STAGE 2. VMSC – Vacuum Magnetic Powder Separation and Classification System

AMT.VMSC

This system is designed for dry classification of metal powders into defined size fractions, combined with magnetic separation of contaminants in a controlled atmosphere. The process is carried out inside a vacuum-tight chamber with preliminary evacuation and operation in inert gas at slight positive pressure.

The vacuum powder fraction classification system is based on a vibratory sieve installed inside a vacuum-tight enclosure and configured for operation after preliminary evacuation with inert gas backfilling. The equipment is intended for precise fraction classification of fine metal powders and for removal of magnetic contaminants by means of integrated magnetic separation.

The screening module is equipped with an ultrasonic mesh cleaning system (ultrasonic deblinding), which applies additional ultrasonic vibration to the screen surface. This minimizes mesh blinding, supports stable passage of fine powder, increases screening efficiency, and extends screen service life.

The system is supplied with a metered feed unit and is suitable for processing heat-resistant alloy powders and stainless steel powders in the 20-200 micron range. The enclosed process concept supports clean, controlled handling of high-value metallic powders for advanced powder processing routes.

Key Advantages

Efficient particle size classification from 20 microns upward.

Higher throughput due to ultrasonic support of the sieving process.

Reduced mesh blinding and longer screen service life.

No contact self-cleaning elements on the screen surface.

Operation in inert gas atmosphere after preliminary evacuation of the chamber.

Integrated magnetic separation stage for additional powder conditioning.
